Mulberry Cobbler

These Berries Grow on Trees!  Yummy Mulberry Cobbler is here!
Complexity Level:  Easy
Mulberry Cobbler
What You Need:
3 1/2 cups Fresh Mulberries
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tbsp Flour (can use gluten free)
1/2 cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Flour (can use gluten free)
1 tbsp Baking Powder
1 Egg

This is so simple and works with different berries!  First, in a small bowl, gently mix the berries with the 2 tbsp of sugar and the 2 tbsp flour.  Set aside.  Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  In a large bowl, using a fork (or dough cutter) cut the butter into the flour and sugar and baking powder.

Mix in the egg and set aside.   Grease an 8X8 baking dish and spoon in the berry mixture.  Top with the flour and egg mixture and bake for 30-35 minutes (or until golden brown).  This is so fast, simple, cheap, and wonderful!  It not only makes a great dessert, but is a wonderful summer treat with whipped cream and ice-cream!

Save the cars from stains and treat yourself!  The right is a picture of what a mulberry tree branch looks like around this time (July) of year.  They are free, simple to pick, and fabulous for all sorts of recipes!

Enjoy this amazing treat!!  Yum!

  1. OH YUMMY!!!! I LOVE mulberries, but they don't grow here. I'm so envious! This is my kind of cobbler!

  2. Oh I wish I would send you some when they are in season. We moved into a place with mulberries growing next door, and no one wanted to pick them -- they were scared of them! So I made cobbler for the neighborhood! Thanks for following ;)
