The Perfect Baked Bread

I love making fresh bread. There is just something about the way it makes the house smell and the taste it has while it is fresh from the oven, that makes fresh baked bread a family favorite.

Often however, when I make bread it doesn’t have that look that I wish it would – you know, the artesian texture and posh bakery style. I understand this is somewhat silly for a mom of two kids three and under to wish for, but I do like my presentation even if it is only for my own desire.

Well, after some research, I was given the opportunity to review and sample a Bakecrafts – Handmade Oval Botform Banneton Proofing Basket Bowl. This bowl is as the title continues to say, “Perfect for Making Artisan Bread with Rising Pattern”. The Bowl I sampled was a 10” oval, and even came with a free Dough Scraper (bonus!)

After the first round of proofing I transferred my dough into the bowl where I let it proof a second time. (roughly for 90 minutes in a 95 degree oven – my secret to quick proofing).

It is that easy folks. After that I just flipped it out and baked it onto an Olive Oil greased baking sheet. The texture the Oval Botform gave my bread was everything I wished for and more. I dusted the bread with some flour to really highlight the pattern, and sliced it while it was still nice and hot.

Today’s bread was an Italian Olive Oil and Herbed bread perfect for the spaghetti dinner I will be serving the family later tonight.
