Tomato Basil Cream Crostini
What You Need:
Crostini
1 Baguette
Olive Oil
Salt
White Pepper (can use black)
Basil Cream Cheese
8 oz. Cream Cheese, room temp.
10-12 Basil Leaves
1 tbsp emon Juice
Toppers
4-5 Vine Ripened Tomatoes, sliced thin
Fresh Basil, chopped
Sea Salt
Olive Oil
To start, we will make salt and pepper crostinis. Super simple and soo delicious! Slice your baguette into 1/6 inch slices. Drizzle both sides with a bit of Olive Oil, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-12 minutes, or until toasty but not dark brown/ burnt.
While those are toasting let's make the basil cream cheese. The flavors you are about to create will blow you away! Just place the cream cheese, basil, and lemon juice into a food processor, and let-er-rip! about 1 minute later you have a spreadable edible aromatic food of love.
Now we just have to assemble! Smear about 1 tsp of the basil cream cheese onto a crostini, top with a vine ripened tomato slice, sprinkle that with sea salt, chop some basil and sprinkle over the loot, then finally drizzle with a full bodied olive oil.
Man oh man... I am addicted to these. That goodness when I made them friends were over... or it would have been date night on the couch with the whole plate!
I hope you enjoy! Thanks for whipping up a quick app with me!
