Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Everyone loves chocolate and peanut butter.. and smoothies are always a win win situation. So what better way to recover from a workout, a deep sleep, or a late night (you've had them) than with a velvety cold smoothie made fast and fresh?

I love fresh fruit. Apples, grapefruits, oranges... and many a times bananas. But my bananas get ripe too fast, and I sadly have to say once too ripe, I'm not into them. So I freeze them by removing the peels and placing them into freezer bags. These I save for smoothies and my favorite, banana bread.

A money saving tip to save the cost of frozen fruits come breakfast time... and plus no banana should be left behind! Well, this morning started off with me sleeping in, and my husband going for a long long run. For me, I needed a quick protein pick me up and an ab workout. And so I thought.... Self, why not so Smoothie Sunday? Forget the pancakes and bacon, let's start this day off right!

And so this monsterous smoothie was born. My husband -- a peanut butter and chocoholic -- came home from his run to find a customized smoothie with this name all over it!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Breakfast Smoothie
What You Need:
1 Banana, frozen
1 tbsp Honey
3/4 cup Chocolate Milk
1/2 ripe banana (not frozen)
1/4 cup Peanut Butter

And just like that, the list explains the rest. Place all these yummy  ingredients into a blender and puree for 1 1/2 minutes.

If you don't have frozen bananas, peel some and place them in the fridge -- trust me, they are G-O-O-D and make these smoothies super easy to make. I mean let's face it, some mornings don't need the 30 minute prep time and hour long bake -- no, somedays are made to start with a smooth frothy beverage of pure deliciousness.

If you are a protein fanatic, add your favorite power to spruce this up even more! Great with Vanilla and Chocolate powders! I drizzled some honey on top to give the smoothie some flair!

Thanks for blending up a delicious treat with me!

Until next time, Aimee Gonzalez
