Play with your Food Breakfast!

Play with your food.... It's the adult thing to do!
Complexity Level:  Easy
Play with your Food Breakfast!
What You Need:
2 Slices Bread
2 Eggs
Salt
Pepper
1 tsp Olive Oil
1/2 tbsp Butter

Optional
Chives
Sliced Tomatoes

Ok, so this is seriously simple.  And I also made stars.  But you know what, this was so much fun, so fun to eat, and man it was just.... YUM!

I don't have many cookie cutters, so I just used a knife to draw my shapes.  The point is, no matter how you do it, make a shape in your bread.  For Valentine's Day, I just figured a heart would be so super romantic - the heart shaped egg Oozing with love and passion! (i'm a dork ;) )

To start, heat you olive oil and butter in a medium skillet.  Cut your shape out of your break, and place the brea into the skillet.  Crack your egg and place it into the center of the cut-out shape.  Sprinkle with salt and/or pepper.  Heat about 2 minutes then flip.  Cook 2-3 more minutes then plate!

If you want to add the chives, add them when the egg is still raw.  I served this without more bread, but with freshly sliced tomatoes sprinkled with salt and a pinch of garlic powder.

It was seriously some of the best breakfast I've had in a while, and just so adorable!  How perfect for kids, holidays, and anydays!

I hope you enjoy -- Have fun with your food!  It's therapeutic ;)

  2. Thanks! I had maybe too much fun with it! I was thinking of even doing them for Birthdays! Cut out the numbers (most likely scramble to eggs for those ones) but wouldn't they just be so fun! I hope you both enjoy these one day! Thanks for stopping by BB today ;)
