Cumin Lime Tilapia

Cumin and Lime -- A new pair for the taste buds! Yum ;)
Makes 2 5oz. Servings of Tilapia
Complexity Level:  Easy
Cumin Lime Tilapia
What You Need:
2 5-6oz. Tilapia Filets
Sea Salt
Black Pepper
1/2 cup Flour
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 Lime
2 tbsp EV Olive Oil
1 Egg
1 tbsp Cream

To start, heat a large skillet with the 2 tbsp of Olive Oil.  While that is heating, whisk the egg and cream in a small bowl and set aside.  Next, mix the flour with the cumin, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, and garlic powder.

Sprinkle the tilapia filets with sea salt and lightly dust with the flour mixture.  Next, dunk the dusted filet into the egg mixture, then pat it into the flour mixture a second time.  Place each filet into the skillet that is now heated and let saute 4 minutes.

Once you flip the filets, squeeze the lime juice over the hot skillet and let the juice cook with the fish.  This will only take about 4 more minutes to cook through.  Remove from heat once brown and serve!  What a delicious kick from the cumin and zest from the lime!

*For a healthier version do not pan fray, bake!  Place teh breaded filets on a baking sheet sparyed with cooking spray and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes.  Squeeze the lime juice over and serve!  I tried both techniques and both turned out perfectly juicy!

I hope this recipe finds you well!

  1. yum! i've been on a total cumin kick lately, this tilapia looks great! This looks like it would be so good in a taco too!

  2. Oh man it would be great in a taco! In fact, if you blended like 5 tomatillos, 1 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp salt, and a pinch black pepper, you'd have an amazing sauce for it too!! Hope you enjoy ;) Thanks for stopping by and sharing some words!

  3. I love that cooking method. Great recipe. I just bookmarked the recipe and will try to cook myself.
