Balsamic Glazed Thyme Pork Chops

A quick, healthy dish for the books!
Total Time: 20 minutes
Complexity Level: Easy
Balsamic Glazed Thyme Pork Chops
What You Need:
4 Large Boneless Pork Chops (1-2 inches thick)
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1 sprig Fresh Thyme
1 cup Water
Cooking Oil

In a large oversafe skillet, pour the cooking oil and heat.  Meanwhile place the chops into a zippy bag with the vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, zip shut and shake.  Be sure to massage the flavors into each chop.  Also turn the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to preheat.

Once the skillet is hot, place each chop into the hot oil (do not pour the bag contents, use tongs) and cover.  Sauté no less than 5 minutes to assure a good golden sear.  Flip each chop, add the water and sprig of thyme, cover, and bake for 15 minutes.

Remove from over and let sit 2-3 minutes to lock in the juices.  If time allows, remove the chops from the skillet and reduce the sauce in the pan for 3-4 more minutes to really caramelize the balsamic.  Either way the dripping are great to spoon over the chops (a little will go a long way!).

My husband ate his serving (above picture) in 9 minutes, along side freshly steamed green beans and some Honey Cumin Couscous!  I know, I know....   it's like I don't cook for him enough or something!  What a terrible wife I am ( ahahahaha)!!

I was super nervous he wasn't enjoying his dinner because I kept asking "Honey, how did they turn out!?"  (typical meal question when I do my kitchen experiments).... Finally he said "Honey!  I can't talk when I'm eating food that tastes so good!!"  Must have been a winner!

I hope you enjoy!  This is a great meal for busy days, and its a 1 skillet meal!
