Walnut Brie and Date Stuffed Pastry

It's our little secret how easy this is to make.
Complexity Level:  Easy
Walnut Brie and Date Stuffed Pastry
What You Need:
1 Sheet Puff Pastry
4 oz. Cream Cheese
1/4 cup Chopped Walnuts
1/4 cup Chopped Dates
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
3 tbsp Melted Butter, separated
1/4 tsp Fresh Ground Nutmeg
Pinch Cinnamon

To start, pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Next, mix the cream cheese, 1 tbsp melted butter, brown sugar, walnuts, nutmeg, and dates.  This will be thick.

Lay the sheet of puff pastry out, poking a few holes (do not cut through the bottom).  Smear the Date and Cream Cheese mixture over the middle of the pasty, then fold in the ends.

Top the filled center with sliced brie, topping that with 1/3 sliced Pear.

Brush the entire pastry with melted butter, and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.  Let cool 10 minutes, or chill over night to serve cold.  I prefer this served warm with a light sugar dusting...

And man is this amazing!!

Enjoy ;)

I have been on a Date recipe binge. I love to create recipes, and too found myself surrounded with dates this month. Next week I am hosting a dinner party, and one of my appetizers will be Feta Walnut Date Cigars -- A phyllo dough elegant treat. I hope you try those out too once I get the recipe up!

Please let me know what you end up doing with your dates, I love to hear about others ideas and recipe success!
