Candy Cane Martini

Think of it as a breath mint that leaves you feeling Festive!
Complexity Level:  Easy
Candy Cane Martini
What You Need:
2 oz. Vodka
2 oz Peppermint Schnapps
2 oz. Vanilla Syrup (coffee syrups work best)
Red Sugar
Peppermint Green Syrup (optional)

Place ice, vodka, vanuilla syrup, and schnapps into a shaker and shake to chill.  Run a lemon or lime around the rim of a martini glass, then rim with the red sugar.

Pour the chilled drink into the sugar rimmed glass and then sink in the green peppermint syrup.

To make a simple heavy syrup, heat 1 cup sugar with 3/4 cup water and 1 tsp Peppermint Flavoring.  Bring to simmer and cook for 5-8 minutes after the simmer has begun.  Remove from heat and let cool.

This is such a simple, delicious drink that can start off, or end a meal on the right notes!

This is so pretty as you drink it.  The red sugars will settle atop the green syrup, giving this an even more amazing festive look!

Cheers!

  2. Ann,

Thanks! It really is a smooth drink and the perfect breath mint.... If only could have one before work on those rough mornings we all sometimes face, in place of gum... lol!

These were a HUGE hit at a recent dinner party we had! If you don't want it too strong, make the vodka portion only 1 1/2 oz.

    Hope you try it!
