Sicilian Orzo

This is absolutely fantastic!
Complexity Level:  Easy
Sicilian Orzo
What You Need:
1 cup Orzo Pasta (can us gluten free/ rice orzo)
6 cup Water
1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Dried Minced Onion
1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
1/2 tsp Ground rosemary
1 tbsp Minced Bell Pepper
1 tbsp Tomato Paste
1 clove Minced Garlic
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1 pinch Thyme
1/2 tsp Parsley Flakes
1/2 tsp Oregano

I know it seems like a ton of ingredients.  Its not!  This is absolutely simple!  In a large saucepan, heat the dried pasta with the butter, oil, and spices.  Toast the noodles until slightly golden brown, about 10 minutes on medium.  Add the water (can use a stock!) and bring to boil.  Cover and let simmer 1 hour.

Drain (I save the water spice mixture, it is soooo tasty!), and serve hot or chill and toss with feta crumbles, kalamata olives, freshly chopped basil, tomato slices, and almond slivers!  Absolutely excellent as a side dish for any meal!

Wowzers this is tasty!

Enjoy!

XOXO,
