Simple Herb Roasted Chicken

So simple and cheap you can joke about it after everyone tells you its amazing!
Simple Herb Roasted Chicken
What You Need:
Water
1 Whole Chicken (about 5 lbs)
1 tbsp Celery Salt
1 tsp Parsley Flakes
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Marjoram
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Crushed Bay Leaves
1 tsp Garlic Powder

Seriously Simple.  Pre-heat oven to 275 degrees fahrenheit.  Add about 8-10 cups of water if using a 5 qt baking dish, or if using a pan and foil, enough water to fill the pan 1/4 of the way.  Whisk in the garlic, salt, black pepper, and bay leaves.  Place the chicken into the seasoned water.  Sprinkle the celery salt, marjoram, and parsley over the chicken (it is ok to get some into the water!).  I like to bake halved potatoes with this to have a side dish!  Its also simple.  Just halve potatoes, and place them into the water.  Cover the chicken (and potatoes if you want to have some) and bake for 4 hours.  Yes thats a while.  Yes its in water.  Yes it is steaming the chicken and making one juicy bird!  Uncover and raise over to 375 to brown the chicken for about 30 minutes.  Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes, then remove from juices and carve!  Absolutely awesome and hey-- simple and budget friendly ;)

Enjoy!

XOXO,

Aimee
