French Bread Pizza

Simple. Fun for Kids. Cheap. Yum -- All under $6 for 2!

I guess this really doesn't need a recipe, as it is so simple to make.
But last night, our French Bread Pizza I made was super cheap, fast, easy, and delicious.
If that doesn't sell you, I don't know what will!

Bacon, Ham, N' Roni Pizza ($3-$5 for 2 halves)
What You Need:
1/2 Loaf of French Bread
4 tbsp Three Cheese Pasta Sauce or Pizza Sauce
3/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
Cooked Ham, diced
Pepperoni Slices
Cooked Bacon Pieces (I used the "Real Bacon Bits")

Spinach, Mushroom, and Vegetarian Sausage ($4-$6 for 2 halves)
What You Need:

Morning Star Vegetarian Sausage Patties (2)
3/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
2 tbsp Three Cheese Pasta Sauce
2 tbsp Alfredo Sauce
1/2 cup Fresh Spinach
1/2 cup Raw Sliced Mushrooms
1/2 loaf French Bread

(For best results I tossed the toppings together with the Alfredo sauce and cheese and topped the red-sauced bread -- this helped bind everything while baking)

For both recipes, or those of your own, cu the loaf of bread in half long ways. I removed some of the bread to hollow the halves -- making for a more sturdy, less messy french bread pizza. The rest is pretty simple, sauce, top, bake, eat, enjoy! I baked these on a pizza baking pan at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 18 minutes, opened a cold beer, and watched the masters.

Who needs to spend money on something that can easily be made for less than the cost of one Pizza from your local delivery shop? No thanks Unlce Sam, this chica is poor, and this food good!

XOXO,

Aimee
