Sweet Pulled Pork

Seriously simple and amazing pulled pork that will impress anyone!

Sweet Pulled Pork
What You Need:
1 Boston Butt
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 Onions, halved
3 cloves Garlic, Minced
1 bottle Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce
Salt
Black Pepper
8 Cups Water
3 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 tsp Liquid Smoke (optional but recommended)

In a crock pot, add the boston butt, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, vinegar, liquid smoke, and halved onions. This will cook over night, while at work, or while you do not feel like doing much. No crockpot?  No problem!  You can use the oven at 250 degrees, place the butt in a baking dish, then after adding the same ingredients as you would the crock pot, wrap in foil to secure steam.

In the slow cooker, let this cook on high for 4 hours, then low for 4 more. In the over, cook for 6 hours at 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove from liquid (draining all but 2 cups), and let cool. This will basically pull itself. Place the pulled, de-boned pork back into the pot, adding the 2 cups liquid, 1/2 brown sugar and bottle of BBQ sauce. Serve on your favorite roll! Great topped with onions!!!

  2. I made this for my family's Memorial Day picnic, and it was amazing. I threw some Jamaican jerk seasoning on mine and thought that was great...but then again that stuff is about my favorite thing ever. This would probably be good with some spiced rum thrown in too. Two thumbs up though, Aimee.

  3. Thanks Gary!!!! I am so glad the pork worked out for you ;) Jamaican Jerk Seasoning is definitely a delicious idea! Ill test it out next time! And spiced rum... yeah that would be good while slow cooking it. I bet it would give a hint of the spice flavor which, with bbq, is always a good thing! Thanks for sharing!!
